So, Where Should You Download It?
You need to download it from the original developers’ website. How will you find it? It’s very simple. Go to REC’s official Twitter account (handle: Rek TV app). You can visit this page even if you don’t have a Twitter account. At the top, you will find the current download links. These addresses can change (for example, the current version might be 17, but it could become 18 or 20), so I recommend bookmarking REC’s Twitter address to always find the correct source.
I am currently on my computer. I will quickly download and install the app on an emulator and then on a Next Start Pro 4K device. This way, I will test it both on an emulator (which simulates a mobile phone/tablet) and on a box device.
Important Information About the Update
The developer friends actually emailed me a few days ago to inform me about this update. In our correspondence, they explained why this update was necessary: their content was being heavily stolen by different applications, and they have taken some security measures to prevent this. They stated there are no issues with the mobile version; all tests were successful. However, because some box devices do not support these new security measures, the app might not work on them for now. They also mentioned they are working on this issue. We thank them on behalf of all of us.
Installation and Testing
When I click the current download address from Twitter, I can download both the mobile and box versions via the “Download APK” button. I quickly downloaded them and first installed the mobile version on the BlueStacks emulator. Upon first launch, the app asks for your age; you can skip this. The interface is truly excellent. When I tested it briefly, the content loaded without issues, and I saw that the player quality, fast playback, resolution change, audio, and subtitle options all worked well.
Then, I also installed the box version on the emulator and tested it; it also worked flawlessly.
Installation on Next Start Pro 4K
Now, I will install the box version on my Next Start Pro 4K device. I copied the application files to a USB flash drive and plugged it into the device. I accessed the flash drive using CX File Explorer and installed both the mobile and box versions from the REC folder. I recommend using a mouse for the box version to work properly (I use an air mouse, which is much more convenient).
When I ran the box version, unlike previous issues, the application opened without any problems. I selected content to test, and it played quickly and smoothly. The mobile version was also installed on the box device and opened, but using a mouse is also more suitable for it.
